Mangroves and primaudial jungle
We start early with a trip to the mangrove swamps, located about an hour from San José. These ancient, primeval wetlands are spectacular in the rain, which is likely, and offer incredible photo opportunities. Expect to see monkeys, snakes, iguanas, and other wilde life among the dense mangroves and lush jungle flora. After the mangrove visit, we begin the journey to our mountain finca. The drive takes approximately three hours and winds through some of Costa Rica’s most breathtaking landscapes. As we approach the Tinamaste region, the road narrows and turns to gravel, climbing into the misty mountains. Hang on—this is where the adventure really begins. Along the way, we may stop at the famous Crocodile Bridge over the Tárcoles River, a popular viewpoint where American crocodiles can often be seen lounging below. Once we arrive at the finca, there’s time to settle in, unpack, and relax. You can take a dip in the pool, unwind in the lounge area, and enjoy a welcome dinner while getting to know your fellow travelers. For those interested, we’ll also offer an optional Lightroom setup session focused on preparing your workflow for travel photography. |

The Spectacular Nauyaca Waterfall Hike
Time to stretch your legs. The Nauyaca Waterfall Nature Park is about an hour away and offers one of the most spectacular waterfalls in the region. If you prefer a less strenuous option, we can arrange access to a scenic viewpoint at the base of the falls. Themes: Waterfalls, jungle, jungle flowers, birds, swimming holes.
